An uncompromised digital audio world

The central of a professional all-digital audio studio has been created. With the best components available and only the purest sample rate converters in the circuit, the SERAPH D4 provides an incredible 140dB dynamic range at any point of the signal flow all the way up to a samplerate of 192kHz.

Using the modern PCIe interface along with customized transfer functions, specifically designed and optimized for 32 bit high quality and high speed audio transfer, this sound system can turn a computer into a super-solid digital recorder − but also into a unique signal converter or digital mixer. That is because the 16 channel AES/EBU system offers a full-range DSP mixing desk with 48 virtual channels, 5 pre/post aux-sums, up to 4 EQs in every channel and a super-flexible routing - ideal for retaining an all-the way digital and latency-free signal flow. Thanks to its 4 AES/EBU in- and outputs and additional 8 signals via the TDM SyncBus, the SERAPH D4 will be a reliable partner and the right choice for any all-digital studio dealing with multiple digital signals.

The new cockpit of your studio: The BEAST

BEAST Digital Signal Prozessor (DSP) As a member of the SERAPH series it includes the new BEAST Digital Signal Processor (DSP). This makes the purchase of an additional mixing console absolutely superfluous. Even the purchase of a patchbay is not necessary...

In the hardware of the Seraph D4 works a full 48-2 channel mixer with one stereo and 3 further mono aux paths. These aux sums are all pre/post switchable and thus predestined for use as headphone mix or effect feed. Furthermore, each of the 48 channels offers an extensive filter section with
  • one low shelf EQ
  • two peak EQs
  • one high shelf EQ
In addition, the BEAST offers the most comprehensive total recall functionality:
All mixer and routing settings can be quickly saved as "snapshots" and recalled with just one click. In addition to all audio settings, this also includes visual settings and labels that you have created for a better overview. Furthermore, all settings can be saved to a file, e.g. for a specific project, and read in again on other systems.

Flexible and Expandable: The TDM SyncBus

Using the TDM SyncBus the SERAPH D4 is a flexible basis for the realization of multichannel setups. Combinations with up to 3 more Seraphs or with any other SyncBus-compatible MARIAN sound system, allow setups with a number of channels according to your individual application or budget.
The SyncBus enables all connected systems to share audio clock and start/stop information. This unique feature ensures reliable recording of all the signals of the sound systems involved. More than that: Thanks to an intelligent bus management, TDM SyncBus compatible systems allow the transfer and exchange of up to 8 audio signals. The signals shared will appear as input signal in each mixer of each card and are handled like every "normal" input signal.

Fast and Reliable: Multi-Client Driver Suite

Each SERAPH system provides software support for Windows™ 7/8/10, Windows™ Server 2008/2008.R2/2012. The continuously enhanced driver software includes true multi-client support for ASIO 2.2 and multi-channel WDM Audio / WASAPI with lowest latencies in all software environments. In contrast to competing products, the driver allows multiple audio applications to access the sound system simultaneously via the same or different driver interfaces.

Well-structured driver menus and dialogs, combined with an easy-to-read and practical manual, make this system extremely easy to set up and to customize for the specific needs of your studio.

Powerfull and Future-proof: A perfect choice

The SERAPH D4 is available in two versions. For basic integration the SERAPH D4 with its Wordclock input connector will serve perfectly in all recording situations. The SERAPH D4 MWX provides an additional daughter board featuring 2 MIDI in- and outputs as well as a wordclock synchronization output.

The MWX will be automatically recognized upon connection with the main card and does not require additional software installation. The wordclock ports are ideal for advanced clock setups that allow independence of the clock signals coming in on the AES/EBU inputs. That means, you can also synchronize all external equipment featuring a wordclock input simply by using the SERAPH D4 MWX as clock master. Additionally the high quality samplerate converters on the audio inputs allow a unsurpassed flexibility in the clock setup of the digital studio. But of course the SRCs can of course be deactivated to retain a signal path, that is beyond any doubt − pure -.

A helpful tool to manage clock signals is the included software clock status panel, monitoring samplerates, lock status, samplerate converter status and clock errors of all digital input signals.

Like every sound system by MARIAN the SERAPH D4 marks up due to its easy installation and steadily controlled highest manufacturing quality according DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. This and the fact, that the SERAPH D4 is 100% engineered and assembled in Germany, make us confident enough to grant a full 5-year warranty.
